Are you drinking enough water? Find out now.
The average adult body is 50-65% water, averaging between 57-60% water. The percentage of water varies according to your age and gender and many of us are not staying hydrated!
To determine how much water you need daily, try the following:
Take your body weight (in pounds) and divide the number by two i.e. 160 lbs / 2 = 80. This equals the number of ounces of water you need each day. A normal glass is approximately eight ounces. So the average 160 lb person would need to drink 10 glasses of water a day.
How staying hydrated helps:
If you ever feel your mouth or lips are dry, it’s a sign you’re already dehydrated. Staying hydrated provides many benefits that you will notice, including:
Concentration
Sleep
Appearance
And supports weight loss.
Bonus tip: add watermelon, cucumber or lemon to your water. It adds a kick of flavour, is refreshing and provides extra vitamins to your day.
