Vitamins for Energy: Why You Should Take a B-Complex

At this time of year, it can be difficult to stay motivated to follow your routine while managing work, children, cooking healthy meals, let alone finding the energy to workout. It’s no surprise that B vitamins are great for energy, but did you know that the underlying reason we even experience low energy is due to stress? Increased stress causes chronic fatigue which can eventually lead to health issues including anxiety, weight gain, and a weakened immune system.  Supplementing B vitamins and vitamin C is crucial to your health – especially during times of stress because your body quickly depletes these vitamins for energy when stress is increased.

B Vitamins

There are eight B vitamins that make up the B- Complex: B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7, B9, and B12. They each have their own unique benefits, but together they work to convert the foods you eat into energy. Think of B’s as your Boosters! B vitamins including folic acid, inositol, and vitamin B6, help improve your mood by boosting your body’s mood enhancing hormones, including serotonin (your “happy hormone”). Vitamin B12 is key for brain function, focus, and memory. Increasing your B vitamin intake will keep you happy, energized, alert and may even give you that motivation you need to get to the gym and keep up with your January resolutions.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is known to be a top immune builder to prevent colds and flu's that are commonly spread at this time of year. This is why we tend to get sick during times of stress because our vitamin C stores are used up quickly and our immune systems are down. But vitamin C has other amazing properties. It helps the body absorb B vitamins quicker, helps regulate cortisol, our stress hormone, and prevents blood pressure from spiking in response to stressful situations.

Time Release

Time Release is important when taking water-soluble vitamins like Bs and Cs, so your body can effectively absorb the nutrients rather than be flushed out quickly through sweat and urine. VITALITY’s Time Release B Complete + C tablets use plant fibres that slowly break down and absorb over 2-3 hours – similar to how food is broken down and absorbed in our bodies.

Plus, these tablets are free of waxes and coatings and slowly break down in the stomach allowing for effective and gentle absorption of these vitamins that are easier on digestion.

We understand how stressful life can be, which is why we’ve created Time Release B60 Complete +C, so your body gets the vitamins it needs, during times of stress and every day.

FAQs

What is the difference between VITALITY’s B Complete + C and other B Complexes available?

VITALITY uses natural plant fiber to gradually release these important water soluble nutrients (B and C) into the body for superior absorption. Your body cannot store water soluble nutrients and needs to have them replenished daily, VITALITY sustained release tablets improve the body’s ability to absorb more nutrients. In addition, VITALITY includes vitamin C which supports the body during times of stress.

Why is a Time Release B Complex with Vitamin C more effective than non-time released vitamins?

Vitamins and minerals in food are naturally time released by the fats, proteins and fibers of that make up our fruit, vegetables, grains etc. A typical capsule bursts open and releases a fast flush of nutrients into the body that is unnatural, this then relates to less absorption into the body’s cells and tissues. VITALITY uses natural plant fibers to slowly and gradually release the nutrients into the body for superior absorption. This results in more energy, enhanced mood and ability to deal with stress.

What is the difference between Cyanocobalamin and Methylcobalamin Vitamin B12?

Both Cyanocobalamin and Methylcobalamin are forms of vitamin B12. Cyanocobalamin is converted in the body to Methylcobalamin and Adenosylcobalamin, both important for many functions in the body. Methylcobalamin supports blood formation and Adenosylcobalamin supports the nervous system. Cyanocobalamin is also used in vitamin B12 shots and is the most stable form of vitamin B12, which is important for time release products. By taking Cyanocobalamin you insure you are getting both forms of the important vitamin B12.

Why are B vitamins best taken together?

B vitamins or vitamin B Complex, are all a part of the same family and rely on all eight B vitamins to be present to function properly. When we take a single B vitamin on its own (for example vitamin B6 or vitamin B12) it can deplete the other B vitamin levels in the body. This is why it’s important to take a complete B complex when supplementing like VITALITY’s B60 Complete + C 600 mg.
