Here's the full article:

Digest+ plant-based digestive aid; GMO-free & made in BC

Suffering from indigestion, gas or upset stomach? Vitality Digest+ is a unique combination of two popular natural products - papaya enzymes (papain) and goldenseal - which together aid digestion and help relieve gas and stomach distress. Many digestion issues are due to lack of enzymes. Used for centuries, papain breaks down proteins while goldenseal, a bitter, stimulates the appetite, supports enzyme production and acts as an anti-inflammatory on the mucous membrane (lining of the stomach and intestine). Vitality Digest+ is made in BC and is non-GMO.

FAQs

How is Digest+ different from regular digestive enzymes?

Digest+ contains goldenseal and papain. The goldenseal stimulates natural production of digestive secretions including enzymes, HCL (stomach acid) and bile. Secondly, it breaks down bad bacteria and aids in the healing of the gastrointestinal tract to reduce inflammation and absorb nutrients. Papain breaks down proteins and soothes digestive upsets.

Who is Digest+ Ideal for?

Digest+ aids in the healing of the GI tract so it is ideal for people in their teens to seniors with digestive issues; this includes digestive system issues of: food allergies, bloated stomachs, low HCL (stomach acid), acid reflux / heart burn and issues including irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and irritable bowel disease (IBD) including diverticulitis, crones and colitis. It is particularly helpful for travellers who are concerned about or have travellers’ diarrhea.

When is the best time to take Digest+?

VITALITY recommends taking Digest+ 1-2 tablets before a meal and in cases where people have ongoing digestive concerns, to take 1 in the evening (this is when the body can focus its energy on repairing the intestinal tract). The recommended max dose is 6 per day. As the body heals many find they only require 1 before each meal and can continue to take in the evening. We recommend taking 6 tablets per day for 10 to 30 days to help support good digestion.

Can I take Digest+ long term?

VITALITY’s Digest+ contains a low dosage of goldenseal and can safely aid digestion for a longer period of time.

Are there any people who should not take Digest+?

Pregnant women or women trying to get pregnant should not take Digest+ or any products containing papaya enzymes as it can stimulate the uterus. Health Canada recommends you to consult a healthcare practitioner prior to use if you are breastfeeding or if you have allergy to fruits; or if you have gastrointestinal lesions, ulcers or are taking anti-coagulant agents, anti- inflammatory agents or other enzyme products or are having surgery.

Can I take Digest+ if I have had my gallbladder removed?

Yes, Digest+ is helpful for those who have no gallbladder as it helps to secrete bile and aid in digestion of dietary fats.

Is goldenseal an endangered species in the wild?

Goldenseal is an endangered species in the wild due to loss of forested lands and overharvesting of wild plants. VITALITY uses sustainably farmed goldenseal from North America in our products.
